I recently watched a video titled Fr. Barron Comments on Effective Evangelization in which he explains how joy is the first step in evangelization. He explains how Cardinal Dolan exudes joy in his efforts at evangelization and for that reason is successful in being one of the best evangelizers.

“Let anyone who comes to you go away feeling better and happier. Every one should see goodness in your face, in your eyes, in your smile. Joy shows from the eyes. It appears when we speak and walk. It cannot be kept closed inside us. It reacts outside. Joy is very infectious.” ~ Blessed Teresa of Calcutta

ACTS is about evangelization—bringing people to Christ and bringing Christ to people—and for that reason it is important that we remember that it is our joy—the smile on our faces and the happiness that radiates from within us—that attracts others to us as children of God.
