Volunteer in Your Parish

One of the objectives of the ACTS retreat is to promote the active parish life to retreatants. After your retreat, you might feel called to serve your parish in liturgical ministry. If so, there are many opportunities to do so. All three of our parishes are always in need of liturgical ministers. Many people are discouraged from serving in this ministry, because they feel spiritually inadequate or not holy enough. It is through serving that we grow closer to God.

Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion

Often referred to as Eucharistic Ministers, Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion are tasked with assisting the priests and deacons with the distribution of Holy Communion. They also help with the preparation of the vessels before Mass and in the event that no Altar Servers are present they should assume the role of the Altar Server. Proclaimers of the Word / Lectors

Lectors do more than just read, they proclaim the Word of God. The manner in which the Scriptures are proclaimed at Mass has a profound effect on whether the faithful receive the Word into their hearts. For more information please contact the coordinator at your parish:

Music Ministry / Choir

This ministry serves the parish through the gift of music. Choir members and musicians encourage full and active participation of parishioners during liturgies. Weekly rehearsals are required and lots of practice is encouraged! Everyone is welcomed, especially those who can play an instrument or sing. Ministers of Hospitality / Ushers

Ushers are responsible for welcoming each parishioner with a smile. As the faithful enter the church it is the ministers of hospitality who greet them as brothers and sisters.
